Birria Ingredients
- 8-12 yellow Corn tortillas (you can also do flour tortillas but it’s best with yellow corn tortillas)
- 2 cans green jackfruit in brine
- 16 ounces oyster mushrooms
- 1 white onion
- 5 garlic cloves
- 2 tbsp oil of choice (I use avocado oil)
- 8 ounces vegan cheese (I like the Follow Your Heart brand *the slices in particular; you can shred them yourself, Trader Joe's shredded vegan cheese, and Violife brand)
- 5 cups water
- 6 Guajillo chiles (link here: https://rb.gy/kpidxr)
- 2 Pasilla ancho chiles (link here: https://rb.gy/jgd7xs)
- 1 1/2 tbsp bouillon paste (I like this brand: https://rb.gy/3wrpbx)
- 3 dried bay leaves
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 large carrot
- 1 tbsp white vinegar or apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar or regular cane sugar
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 Roma tomatoes (try to get the darker slightly soft ones)
- 1 bunch cilantro
- 2 limes
Margs Ingredients
- 2 ounce lime juice (4-5 limes)
- 3 ounce lemon juice (4-5 lemons)
- 3 ounce triple sec
- 4 ounce tequila (Silver aka “blanco” tequila works best)
- 2 ounce simple syrup
